Material search

• To search catalogs for materials in the Center for International Children’s Literature, please go to “Search Catalogs – Center for International Children’s Literature”.
• “A Search catalogs by cell phone function”* is also available.
  (However, you can not make reservations nor request copies.)
  Read this code to access OPAC.
• To search catalogs for materials in Osaka Prefectural Library, please go to “Search catalogs”.
• To search catalogs in both facilities, please go to “Cross search”*.
• There are 2 OPAC machines by which you can search the Center for International Children’s Literature and Osaka Prefectural Central Library.
• Books catalogs are also available.
  To find foreign books with non-alphabetical titles, please refer to the list of foreign books in the end of the reading room.

  How to use materials in the archives

  • To use materials in the archives, please apply at the front desk, by OPAC machine, by telephone, by FAX or on the internet.
  • You can make a reservation for 30 materials at a time on the internet.
  • To make a reservation on the internet, please check “Search catalogs in the Center for International Children’s Literature”, go to “book details” page and click “Put this in the reservation cart.” Make sure you indicate the date when you are coming to the facility. To make a reservation for a magazine, you have to request its first issue and indicate your desired issues in the comment blank. You need your user card number and password. If you do not have a user card, you need to apply for a “web limited user.” Please see “log in” in the user menu.
  • If you request a large number of materials at a time, please make arrangements in advance.
  • To request specified materials(*1), you need to fill in a special form.
  • * In principle, we offer substitute materials for specified materials.
    If you request original materials, you need to fill in a special form and apply for inspection.
    Apply 7 days before the date when you need to use them.
  • * To request semi-specified materials(*2) (manga, magazines of manga, magazine appendixes), you need to fill in a special form and apply at least one day in advance.

    Special materials that can only be viewed as copies and microfilms.

    (*2) semi-specified materials

    Special materials that require prior permission to view.

  Cancellation

  • To cancel your reservation, please let us know as soon as possible.

  Limitation

  • You cannot accept reservations for a material which has already been reserved. Please make a reservation on a different day.
