How to use materials

• It is free to use materials. However, you may not take them out of the facility.
• With children younger than junior high school students, an adult’s attendance is required.
• Please ask the attendant if you want to use materials in the archives.
• You may need to make a reservation for certain materials, manga, and magazines of manga.

• Please see “How to use audio materials”* page to use audio materials such as CDs, records and cassette tapes.
• Archive hours: 9:15am – 4:30pm
• You may not bring baggage into the facility except for valuables and writing utensils.
  Please put your baggage in the locker before you enter the facility. Lockers are available in the Center for International Children’s Literature and at the entrance of the Central Library.
  Transparent plastic bags are available at the front desk.
• Materials can be used by groups.

How to copy materials

• Copying of materials is permitted within a certain range under Article 31 of the Copyright Act.
• In order to protect the copyright and to preserve materials, the attendants will copy materials. You may not copy materials by yourself.

Closed Circuit TV

• The reading room is equipped with a CCTV. Please feel free to use it to magnify materials.

Online Public Access Catalog in the facility

• There are 2 OPAC machines with which you can search the Center for International Children’s Literature and Osaka Prefectural Central Library.
• In addition, there is a machine with which you can browse about 1,300,000 materials digitized by the National Diet Library.

Wireless LAN

• You may connect your own PC to the internet. The password is issued at the desk on the 2nd floor.

How to find materials

• You can find materials by using an OPAC machine or consulting the book catalogs.
• To find foreign books with non alphabetical titles, please refer to the list of foreign books at the end of the reading room.

Reference service

• If you have problems with your research, please feel free to talk to the attendant at the desk.
• We also accept your request and inquiry by telephone, FAX,  letters and on the internet e-reference*.

Parking information

• There are 120 parking spaces in the underground parking lot.
• Free for less than 15 minutes.
• Over 15 minutes : 100 yen for 60 minutes (Tuesday – Friday)
  150 yen for 60 minutes (Saturday, Sunday, National holidays and other holidays).
• Parking is free for the handicapped. Please present your identification booklet for the handicapped.

* Parking is prohibited in the surrounding areas.
