{"id":50036,"date":"2014-04-23T00:00:00","date_gmt":"2014-04-22T15:00:00","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/V-CMS.library.local\/?page_id=50036"},"modified":"2024-01-04T15:39:15","modified_gmt":"2024-01-04T06:39:15","slug":"slag11","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/www.library.pref.osaka.jp\/site\/nakato\/building-e.html","title":{"rendered":"THE OSAKA PREFECTURAL NAKANOSHIMA LIBRARY\u3000BUILDING GUIDE"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<div id=\"main\">\n<div id=\"main_a\"><hr class=\"hide\" \/>\n<div id=\"main_header\">\u00a0<\/div>\n<div id=\"main_body\">\n<div class=\"detail_free\">\n<h2>\u4e2d\u4e4b\u5cf6\u56f3\u66f8\u9928\u672c\u9928\u30fb\u5de6\u53f3\u4e21\u7ffc<br \/>Nakanoshima Library main building, as well as both the right and left wings<\/h2>\n<figure><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignright\" src=\"\/uploaded\/image\/1812.jpg\" alt=\"Nakanoshima Library main building, as well as both the right and left wings\" align=\"right\" border=\"0\" hspace=\"15\" \/><\/figure>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>The main library was built in 1904with funds contributed by the late Baron Sumitomo.<br \/>Mr. Noguchi Magoichi and Mr. Hidaka Yutaka, architectural engineers from the Sumitomo family, designed the building.<br \/>A Corinthian style column supports the front awning, evoking the image of a Greek temple.<br \/>The high arching dome of the Central Hall is reminiscent of a large cathedral.<br \/>The Sumitomo family extended both the right and left wings through a generous donation in 1922, both of which were designed by Mr. Hidaka Yutaka.<br \/>The main library and both the right and left wings were designated as National Important Culture Properties in 1974. (Asano Kiyoshi : Osaka Prefectural Library\u2019s architecture, Osaka Prefectural Library bulletin, No. 9)<\/p>\n<h2>\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 \u6b63\u9762\u7384\u95a2<br \/>The Main Entrance<\/h2>\n<figure><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" class=\" wp-image-55633 alignleft\" src=\"https:\/\/www.library.pref.osaka.jp\/contents\/wp-content\/uploads\/1813.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"297\" height=\"223\" \/><\/figure>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>The top of the main entrance features a large plaque that reads \u201c\u5927\u962a\u56f3\u66f8\u9928 (Osaka Library)\u201d, from right to left.<br \/>Interestingly, the plaque reads \u201cOsaka Library\u201d, and not \u201cOsaka Prefectural Library,\u201d indicating that there was no library in Osaka before the Nakanoshima Library opened in 1903.<br \/>In short, the wording provides a telling reminder that the Nakanoshima Library was indeed, the first library in Osaka.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<div id=\"main_a\">\n<div id=\"main_body\">\n<div class=\"detail_free\">\n<h2>\u5efa\u9928\u5bc4\u4ed8\u8a18\uff08\u5927\u9285\u677f\u984d\uff09<br \/>Donation History<\/h2>\n<figure><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignright\" src=\"\/uploaded\/image\/1814.jpg\" alt=\"Donation History\" align=\"right\" border=\"0\" hspace=\"15\" \/><\/figure>\n<p>The library of the Central Hall also features a large copper plaque bearing the words \u201cDonation History.\u201d<br \/>The 15th head of Sumiotomo Family, Baron Sumiotomo Kichizaemon, the founding benefactor to the library, placed his message on the plaque.<br \/>\u201cOsaka has a large population, enormous diversity, and a very high level of education.<br \/>Unfortunately, a library is the only thing Osaka lacks.<br \/>I would like to contribute to the library building and its collection of books.\u201d<br \/>Mr. Sumitomo\u2019s strong will to contribute to Osaka\u2019s culture and education is evident in his message.<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<h2>\uff12\u3064\u306e\u5f6b\u50cf<br \/>The Two Statues<\/h2>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" class=\"alignleft\" src=\"\/uploaded\/image\/1819.jpg\" alt=\"The two statues 1\" width=\"181\" height=\"241\" align=\"left\" border=\"0\" hspace=\"0\" \/><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" class=\"alignleft\" src=\"\/uploaded\/image\/1815.jpg\" alt=\"The Two Statues\u30002\" width=\"180\" height=\"240\" align=\"left\" border=\"0\" hspace=\"15\" \/>There are two statues along the far wall of the Central Hall.<br \/>Bothe copper statues are half-nude Greek youth;
